Weeds - A Garden for Wildlife card by Hannah Longmuir

‘Weeds’ is a colourful drawing all about the wonderful weeds that every garden should have. Buttercups, nettles, daisies, dandelions, clover – all the weeds that gardeners fight against all summer long – provide essential food and habitats for butterflies, bees, hoverflies and insects. One nettle patch can be host to more than 40 species of insect. The insects also serve as food for birds and mammals. Clover and dandelions are great for soil quality, too. The only conclusion we can reach is that if you want a colourful garden full of life you have to embrace those weeds!
